1.5hr – 2hr swimming with seals at Robberg Peninsula
Guest report to the Offshore Adventures Office, located at Central beach’s
car park, 30min prior to departure, where guests sign in and are
equipped with all the necessities for the excursion. After all the
formalities the boat departs from central beach to Robberg Peninsula,
home to approximately 6000 seals, where guests jump into the water with
a fully qualified dive master for 30min packed with fun and inquisitive
furry seals!
The whole trip lasts about 1hour to an 1hour and a half.

The 2 hour boat adventure starts and ends with an adrenaline beach launch into the sea, with 600 hp motors, we will take you to some of the best spots along the coastline. Our purpose built cat style boat has been designed to conquer the ocean without compromising on safety or comfort. Our official permit allows us to take you as close as 50m from a whale when sighted. Other sightings include seals, pelagic birds as well as sharks, big fish, penguins and octopus in their natural habitat.

We had an amazing experience on the trip, seeing literally hundreds of dolphins that put on an amazing show for our amusement. Sadly the weather changed dramatically while we were watching the dolphins and the second part of the trip was curtailed. We had a white knuckle ride back to the beach instead, travelling as fast as was safely practical and hoping not to run into the massive rainstorm enveloping the area around the Beacon. Consequently we arrived about half an hour earlier than scheduled, but did not mind in the least as we were safe and, though rather damp from spray, had avoided the heavy rain. Downsides - a large family group, making up about half the passengers, were not only late arriving at the office, but seemed to be in no hurry at all to get to the boat. Maybe the company could make it clearer when booking that people should arrive early enough to check in and fill out the paperwork. - Jeff and Christine EARL

It was a very nice tour with Ocean Safaris. Of course we also wanted to see the dolphins, hence the idea for this boat tour. But of course you can't order the dolphins to show themselves at this time.. :) Nevertheless, we really enjoyed this tour and were impressed by the fascinating seals on Robberg Island 's tip, really enjoyed boating with the gentle surge/waves and had fantastic views of Robberg, Plettenberg Bay and the beautiful Keurboomstrand. Our guide took great care of us, he was very nice and helpful and told a lot of interesting things. Next time we'll look forward to seeing the dolphins... : ) - Berna Euler
I couldn't see whales nor dolphins which was a bit disappointing. Overall the guide was really welcoming and had a bit of information for us. I know it's never guaranteed to see the animals and we did see seals as sort of substitution. The boat ride itself was fun! - Leonie Neitzel
