What about Rabies:
We want to keep you in the loop about the recent rabies outbreak in seals. We’re closely monitoring the situation with the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism and Cape Nature. While there have been a few isolated cases, we’re continuing our activities with some extra safety measures to ensure everyone’s well-being.
We’ll keep you informed about rabies risks and our approach to managing them. Our team has put additional protective steps in place, and we have spotters watching for any unusual seal behavior.
Our local hospital is well-prepared for any seal bite injuries, with trained staff and vaccines on hand, just in case.
We also carry first aid supplies for bite wounds and make sure our guides stay close while you’re in the water, ready to help if needed. To keep the seals calm and ensure you have a great experience, we’ve slightly reduced the time spent in the water.
If you’re feeling a bit uneasy, no problem! You can choose to join a viewing trip instead, which is just as enjoyable. The choice is completely yours, and we’re here to make your experience safe and fun!
A great experience from start to finish. Friendly. Professional. Knowledgeable. Highly recommend Offshore Adventures. - Dony (UK)
Foi um dia inesquecivel, pois tivemos a oportunidade de estar no ambiente natural das focas, sem interferencias, elas sao bem ativas e brincalhonas. Deu tudo certo, e a equipe e sensacional. - James Vaquetti dos Santos
It was the best experience that we ever had. To be able to come so close to these animals and creatures is unimaginable. Thank you very much to the team for your kind hospitality. - Jan van Heerden
The swimming with seals trip in Plett was a great experience. Fun boat trip and good, friendly but professional staff. We had the added bonus of watching whilst they attempted to repatriate a seal pup to the colony, which involved throwing it onto the rocky shore from the boat.........(not cruel, the only way possible), the pup slipped back into the water but managed to scramble back onto the rocks!! The swimming itself was fab, we had a perfect day to be fair. Nothing not to like!! - Mark Brown
What a great experience right from the start the staff were first class and very professional.the boat trip to the seals was worth the money alone and to actually swim with the seals was such an experience and a pleasure to share the waters with such lovely creatures would definitely recommend - Barry Thomsett
“Our favourite!” The 2 hour Storms River Kayak & Lilo Adventure is our most popular adventure activity in Tsitsikamma National Park! If you are keen to explore deeper into the Storms River Gorge in Tsitsikamma, and experience the long, deep, quiet pools, then the Kayak and Lilo trip is for you!
We paddle from the Harbour next to the small beach across the ocean, then under the Suspension Bridge and up the beautiful Storms River Mouth. Please note that if the sea is rough, you have to hike to the Suspension Bridge (along a boardwalked trail), where we then hike along the river from the suspension bridge up to the jetty to where you then get on onto your kayaks. This 1km hike takes about 30 min
This is where the true Kayaking adventure begins – paddling the Storms River, the pinnacle of Tsitsikamma National Park. After waving to all the tourists photographing you from the Suspension Bridge, we continue the kayak trip up the Stormsriver. We paddle right into the bats cave and spend time gazing up at the magnificent and spectacular cliffs all around us, all from the comfort of our double sit-on-top kayaks.
At the low-water point we disembark our kayaks and we jump on our unique Lilo’s. (a Lilo is an inflatable mattress that we’ve had specially made for this trip). From here we walk and float over a short section of rocks and simply wade deeper up the river on the Lilo’s. What a stunning view it is, laying on a Lilo at water level, and gazing up to cliffs that touch the sky! At reaching a certain point, we simply turn our Lilo’s around and float back down river to our Kayaks!

Ich fand meine beiden Guides Lisa und Elvonzo (sorry, I can't remember the exact way of writing it... ??) super nett!
- Eva El Samadoni
The views are stunning. A moderate fitness level is required. I found the experience a little expensive verses how far ones goes in and kayaks in Storms River. The river stops at a point with rocks. I would recommend hiring the boots. A wet suit is not necessary unless you want to swim or if its cold. One does get quite wet, more than I expected with having done kayaking a few times. - Katherine Comer
What an incredible experience from start to finish! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were welcoming, friendly, and super helpful---clearly explaining the entire process, where to get our gear, what we'd need, and all the start times. Our guides, Norman and Luba, were simply amazing! We were greeted so warmly, and Norman's fantastic sense of humour kept the energy high and the smiles coming. Luba went above and beyond to make sure no one was left behind, constantly encouraging us and paddling alongside us when we struggled through the waters and fell behind the rest of the group. His support made all the difference. Overall, it was an unforgettable, exciting, and truly awesome experience. We loved every minute! - Uviwe Mbombela
Fantastic activity to do if you are near Tsitsikamma. You get to have a leisurely paddle up Storms River then to play around on inflatable lilos. This is the second time I have done this activity with the first several years ago but still worth it. The instructors/ guides were fabulous and we could not have asked for better people. It's always worth nothing high tides and weather when booking as the ocean is often too rough to kayak to the river entrance but still very worth it. - Catherine Leather
